Project Economist for Large Infrastructure Projects

A government actor in energy infrastructure is in an expansive development phase and plans to make significant investments over the next ten years. With a growing number of complex projects, the demands in the economic area are increasing. Therefore, we are now looking for an experienced project economist who can support project managers and lead project managers in managing financial issues in large investment projects, starting in February.

The projects included in the programs are both complex and extensive infrastructure projects, several of which have a total budget exceeding 1 billion SEK. The projects are carried out in various contracting forms, such as execution contracts, total contracts, and collaborative contracts.

In this role, you will work either on individual projects within a program or in a main project that encompasses several sub-projects. The focus of the assignments may vary over time, depending on the needs of the organization and the phase the projects are in.

The role involves close collaboration with project managers, lead project managers, and various expert functions. The assignment requires strong analytical skills, a structured working method, and a good understanding of governance and follow-up in public projects.

Responsibilities

You will be part of the unit responsible for project and program support within the organization's investment activities.

Your tasks will include, among other things:

• Supporting project managers and lead project managers with forecasts, calculations, analyses, and financial investigations
• Working with financial planning, follow-up, and accounting issues within large construction projects
• Analyzing and following up deviations from forecasts and annual plans together with project managers
• Contributing to structured and quality-assured financial management in the projects
