At the Area Office for Medicine and Pharmacy, we provide support and services to students, management, researchers, teachers, technical and administrative staff, as well as others active in the field of medicine and pharmacy.

The Area Office is part of the university administration but receives the majority of its assignments through the area board and the vice-rector of the science area. The Area Office has about 70 employees and is divided into five units.

The Unit for Educational Support consists of 15 people, and our mission is to provide administrative support and services to committees, pro-deans, chairs, program managers, and departments regarding education at the undergraduate, advanced, and doctoral levels, as well as the internationalization of education. We work on-site in modern premises with our own workspaces in Segerstedthuset in central Uppsala.

We are now looking for an Educational Leader for the Unit for Educational Support. The position mainly involves providing qualified administrative support to the science area, focused on two areas: (1) education at the undergraduate and advanced levels, (2) internationalization of education.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the position include:

• Being the responsible officer for overarching educational issues at the science area for medicine and pharmacy.
• Being administratively responsible for the medical faculty's committee for education at the undergraduate and advanced levels (GRUNK).
• Planning, developing, and following up on educational programs and independent courses at the undergraduate and advanced levels.
• Participating in operational planning, including the allocation of funds to education and contributing to the preparation of budgets, finances, and operational reporting.
• Handling collaboration regarding agreements with healthcare regions, municipalities, and regions concerning clinical placements (VFU).
• Participating in steering groups and working groups as a representative of the medical faculty and Uppsala University.
• Participating in the preparation of current matters within the office, such as consultations.

Regarding internationalization, you will have a coordinating and outward-facing role where you drive various types of issues related to internationalization. This includes working with educational networks, focus areas, strategic investments, and individual programs, in line with the priorities set by the area management and the university.

The position's focus on internationalization also means that you will work with both national and international partners and develop and manage collaboration agreements. Some travel is included in the position.

Qualifications

• A degree from a university or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in qualified administrative work, such as operational support and service, at an educational institution.
• Experience working with budgeting and financial follow-up.
• Good ability for clear and factual communication in both spoken and written Swedish and English.
• Experience working with study administrative data systems.
• Experience in quality, methodology, and development work.
• Experience in leadership and/or project management.
• Good knowledge of the higher education sector, preferably within medicine and pharmacy, including legislation, educational funding, follow-up, and evaluation.
• Experience in collaboration and cooperation within universities, other authorities, collaborative organizations, and contractors.
• Experience working with internationalization issues such as international networks, education, or partners.
• Knowledge of establishing and renewing agreements, preferably with international parties.

The tasks require you to have a high level of initiative, very good ability to work independently and in a structured manner, as well as a service-oriented approach. You must also be able to work under peak workloads and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
