As a social worker in the Investigation of Young and Adults, you will be offered interesting and varied tasks. The unit has a high level of ambition and a drive to develop working methods to improve quality, all with the individual in focus. You will be part of a workgroup characterized by an open climate where knowledge transfer is a given. As a new employee with us, you will receive a gradual introduction to the work tailored to your experiences.
About the position
As a social worker within the Investigation of Young and Adults, you will handle cases regarding substance abuse, domestic violence, dropouts, and people with various forms of psychosocial issues. In each case, two caseworkers are applied, one main caseworker and one co-caseworker. In your daily life, you will conduct broad social work. Close collaboration with other actors and the individual's network is essential for success in the work. Our target group is individuals aged 16 and above.
It is important to us that you feel comfortable and secure when you come to us. Therefore, we offer you a solid foundation in your professional practice such as:
- thorough introduction after employment
- support from senior caseworkers in practical matters
- deepening and specialization in a competence ladder
- support resources such as administrators and transporters
- regular supervision
Examples of tasks:
- investigate, decide, and implement decisions according to SoL, LVU, and LVM
- follow up on decided interventions
- maintain contacts both for investigative purposes and to help strengthen individuals' own resources
- write statements to relevant authorities, e.g., to IVO and administrative courts
- present cases in committees and boards
- work based on proven knowledge theory and evidence-based methods
- know and follow applicable laws, policies, and routines for the operation
- work and document in the operational systems that exist
About the workplace
The Social Board responsible for individual and family care belongs to the Social Administration in Örebro Municipality. Individual and family care is based on several areas with both authority exercise and interventions. The social services in Örebro Municipality have a large open care, extensive preventive work, several HVB homes, and support housing. Within the authority exercise, there are several units, Family Homes, Family Law, Reception, Social Emergency, and three investigation units for Children and Young People as well as Young Adults.
A priority in the operation is to ensure legal certainty, to have good service and accessibility towards our service users, and that the methods we use are based on science and proven experience.

Qualifications
As a social worker, it is important that you have a flexible mindset, are meticulous, and have the ability to find quick and legally secure solutions. You are secure, stable, and can relate in a way that is adapted to the situation. You prefer to work in a team with shared responsibility while independently driving the work forward. In the role, it is important that you are attentive in your contact with others and that you have a natural ability to understand others' perspectives and situations without losing your professional integrity. The work requires good communication skills, which means that you can express yourself clearly and structured in both speech and writing.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- degree in social work, 210 credits
- driving license B
Meritorious:
- experience working with authority exercise within social services
- experience working with BBIC
- experience working with ASI (Addiction Severity Index)
- experience working with MI (Motivational Interviewing)
- experience working with the Signs of Safety model
- experience working with cases of domestic violence
- experience working with individuals with a criminal lifestyle
