Summer Temporary Positions at HVB Homes in Örebro

About the Position

In Örebro municipality, we have three HVB homes for youth with psychosocial issues, and we can now offer summer temporary positions for those studying or who have studied to become a social worker, treatment assistant, or another form of behavioral science. With us, you will have the opportunity to develop and gain new knowledge in working with youth.

As a summer temporary worker at HVB, you will be part of a team where we have different core assignments. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and/or awake nights. However, there is also the possibility for only night shifts.

Examples of Job Duties

• together with other staff maintain structures and offer youth and their families credible relationships
• have contact with, for example, the Social Services investigation unit, BuP, schools, healthcare, etc.
• individual conversations and parent meetings
• social training together with the youth
• perform practical tasks in the operation

About the Workplaces

All three residences are organized according to milieu therapeutic principles but have different theoretical and methodological foundations for treatment:

• OT group is based on a psychodynamic theoretical foundation and works with mentalization-based milieu therapy. The target group is children/youth aged 13-16 at placement, and there are 9 HVB places and 6 outpatient care places. The operation is located in the Karlslund area.
• Multigroup is based on a learning psychological theoretical foundation, and treatment is conducted based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Here we have 12 HVB places distributed according to need for treatment placement, emergency placement, or assessment placement. The age range is 15-19 for treatment placements and up to 21 for emergency placements, as well as a couple of outpatient care places. The operation is located in Norr.
• Athena group is based on an integrative theoretical foundation and is an HVB operated by two committees in collaboration, the social committee and the support committee. The target group is children and youth aged 13-18 who also have a confirmed or suspected disability in combination with psychosocial issues; there are 8 places and two outpatient care places. The operation is located in Mellringe.

Qualifications

We see that you who are applying are clear and have good communication skills, as contact with the youth is an important part of the job. You can adapt to the recipient and adjust based on their conditions. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with the youth and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires in writing.

Requirements:

• ongoing or completed education to become a social worker, behavioral scientist, or treatment assistant, alternatively another education in combination with relevant work experience deemed equivalent by the employer for a summer temporary position
• B driver's license for manual transmission

Meritorious:

• experience in treatment work with youth and their families
• experience in treatment work at HVB
• experience working with children/youth with disabilities
