Description

You will be part of the service and citizen influence unit, which supports the city's operations in developing needs-based services, strengthening citizen influence, and contributing to an equitable and sustainable city through service development, dialogue tools, and coordination of sustainability efforts.

The City of Gothenburg is now seeking a facilitator role to support and develop citizen-driven initiatives in ecological sustainability. In this role, you will act as a link between civil society, the city's administrations, companies, and property owners.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include providing advice, facilitating collaboration between civil society organizations and the city's operations, and contributing to the growth of new sustainable initiatives – particularly in neighborhoods where such investments are currently few. The assignment aims to strengthen the city's support structure, accelerate the transition to a more sustainable society, and increase engagement from both civil society and the business sector.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you need a relevant higher education degree in areas such as social sciences, sustainable development, public administration, or equivalent experience.

• Several years of experience in collaboration between the public sector and civil society.
• Experience in circular economy, sharing economy, or sustainable consumption.
• Several years of experience in advisory, coordinating, or facilitating roles.

If you also have experience in project management or process management, as well as experience in urban development, local transition, or citizen-driven initiatives, it is considered an asset.

You have a knack for communicating and listening to others' viewpoints and perspectives and can express yourself clearly to different target groups in both speech and writing. You base your support on the needs of those we serve, adapt your assistance, and drive active change efforts. Personal suitability will be given great importance.
