Job Responsibilities

As a labor market consultant in the youth unit, you will be operational in the daily work of administering and coordinating initiatives for the youth target group.

The unit consists of several teams with a primary focus on work and preparatory initiatives for young people aged 15-29, but also initiatives aimed at other target groups in the city.

We are looking for a new team member for our summer job team, which coordinates approximately 6000 summer jobs for young Gothenburgers throughout the year. Our primary target group is students in the 9th grade of primary school and the 1st and 2nd years of high school. The young people are employed by us and placed in various organizations across the city. The work in the team varies with periods of administration, follow-up, and planning during parts of the year. During the summer job periods, there is a strong emphasis on communication and relationships with workplaces, youth, and parents, which we engage with via phone, email, and visits. If you are applying to us, you enjoy meeting new people and tackling everything from simple to more complex questions. We value respectful interaction and a good ability to express oneself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. You will work in the systems FerieBas and Personec, as well as with various programs within the Office suite.

To thrive with us, you need to be able to perform your work in a structured and independent manner, but also plan and collaborate closely with your colleagues. We view the unit's mission as our shared mission, and it may occur that you switch tasks within teams and the unit, but the target group of youth aged 15-29 remains the same.

The position is a temporary contract that extends until 2026-10-15.

We will conduct interviews on an ongoing basis during the recruitment period, so do not wait to apply!

Qualifications

Applicants should have a higher education equivalent to at least 180 credits in personnel or behavioral science, or other education and/or experience that the employer deems equivalent. The assignment also requires that you have a B driver's license. You should also have experience collaborating with various functions both internally and externally. It is advantageous if you have good knowledge of the IT systems FerieBas and Personec. Additionally, it is beneficial if you have knowledge of agreements and regulations applicable to the target group and the assignment.

To thrive in the role, we believe you are flexible and can adapt how you work when things change. You can quickly shift your perspective and approach and see opportunities in changes. You are positive, find solutions, and want to help. You understand what those we serve need and ensure they are satisfied. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively and ensure that tasks are completed on time.

About Us

In Gothenburg, everyone should be able to grow. Freely and independently. This requires that more people gain skills that match the needs of the labor market. And thereby jobs, self-sufficiency, and the opportunity to contribute to society. Regardless of how the journey looks, everyone should have a place in our city. Therefore, the administration for labor market and adult education exists.

We see each person's potential and open pathways forward. By coordinating Gothenburg City's labor market initiatives and ensuring municipal adult education, we set direction and are a hub for collaboration. Together with engaged entrepreneurs, academia, international companies, civil society, and other parts of the city, we work with collective strength towards common goals. This is how we empower people and one of Sweden's largest labor markets. We open opportunities every day.

Now we are looking for you who want to make a difference!
