Your tasks

The introduction program is aimed at students who are not eligible for high school; with us, students study language introduction or individual alternatives. Our students have a background of problematic school situations in primary school, they may be newly arrived and have a great need for support in both their education and their daily lives. Everyone studies primary school subjects, and the programs are adapted to each student's conditions and needs. This means that the students you teach, the content of the lessons, and the level of instruction can vary and change frequently. Work in the introduction programs is based on close collaboration between teachers, student health staff, and leisure leaders.

Your starting point as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work based on the curriculum. You collaborate with guardians, colleagues, and the student health team to achieve a higher degree of goal fulfillment, create safety, and increase motivation for each student. You start from the student group you meet and are expected to create varied and challenging teaching. Using digital tools is a natural part of your teaching.

You promote collegial learning through discussion and reflection at both planned and spontaneous occasions. To benefit students' learning, as well as your own and the development of the organization, you take advantage of the experiences and knowledge of different professions.

The introduction programs are growing, and we are now looking for another teacher for our new unit that will start. In this position, you will teach mathematics and science subjects.

Your workplace

Berzeliusskolan is a centrally located school in Linköping with modern facilities. Here you will find the upper grades of primary school, high school, and adapted high school. The high school includes the natural science and technology programs as well as the introduction program focusing on language introduction and individual alternatives. There are approximately 1900 students, of which just over 1000 are in high school, and about 330 employees at the school. As the introduction program grows, this student group will have their teaching in facilities located a bit away from Berzeliusskolan, but school lunch and teaching in sports and some other subjects will take place at Berzeliusskolan.

You who are applying

First and foremost, we are looking for someone with a teaching license with the authority to teach grades 7-9 in mathematics. Secondly, we are looking for someone with a completed teacher education for grades 7-9. Alternatively, you are at the end of your education to become a teacher for grades 7-9. It is an advantage if you are qualified to teach one or more natural science subjects in grades 7-9.

It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through practice or as an employee. It is also a requirement that you have a B driver's license. It is advantageous if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one school year. It is also advantageous if you have experience with students in need of special support or experience teaching in introduction programs, in special education groups, or in resource schools.

In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have good knowledge of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communicative skills in speech and writing in the Swedish language. This is so that you, according to the curriculum (Lgr22), can organize and carry out the work so that the student receives support in their language and communication development. You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.

As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
