Your tasks
The starting point for you as a teacher is to work with planning, teaching, evaluation, and value-based work according to the curriculum. You will meet students in grades 7–9 and be responsible for teaching mathematics, all science subjects, and/or technology. The position also includes mentorship, where you become an important source of security and guidance for a group of students.
You will work both independently and together with colleagues, guardians, and other professional groups at the school to create the best possible conditions for each student. Using digital tools is a natural part of teaching, and you are expected to create a varied, challenging, and stimulating learning environment.

Teaching is planned in work teams where you regularly exchange experiences, create common understanding, and develop methods together. In addition to the weekly work team meetings, subject teams meet several times a year for professional development and to drive pedagogical development.
We work closely with research, and within the science subjects, there is a collaboration with Umeå University regarding memory training and test-based learning. This gives you access to modern teaching methods that strengthen students' learning and your own development.
Your workplace
Berzeliusskolan is a modern, newly renovated school located in the center of Linköping, where knowledge, community, and development are the focus. Here, around 750 students and about 100 dedicated staff members from grades 7–9 and high school come together. With us, you become part of a large faculty where collaboration is close and mutual support is provided.
The teachers work closely together, and collaboration is a central part of our culture. Teaching is planned and developed in work teams where you regularly meet colleagues to exchange experiences, create common understanding, and drive teaching development. In addition to the weekly work team meetings, subject teams also meet several times a year for joint professional development and to continue developing teaching.

With us, there is a complete student health service with counselors, school nurses, psychologists, student coaches, special teachers, and special educators on site, which allows you to truly focus on teaching and leadership in the classroom.
You who are applying
Primarily, we are looking for someone with a teaching license qualified to teach mathematics and one or more science subjects in grades 7-9. Alternatively, we are looking for someone who has completed teacher training for grades 7-9. You may also be in the final stages of your teacher training for grades 7-9. It is an advantage if you have qualifications in technology.
It is a requirement that you have experience working in a curriculum-driven school through internships or as an employee. It is advantageous if you have taught in grades 7-9 for at least one academic year. It is also advantageous if you have experience grading or documenting students' learning during the academic year.
In your role as a teacher in grades 7-9, you have a good understanding of the school's mission and are well acquainted with the curriculum (Lgr22) and other governing documents. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish. This is necessary for you to organize and carry out the work so that each student receives support in their language and communication development according to the curriculum (Lgr22). You are responsible for ensuring that each student can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way.
As a teacher, you are a good role model. You have the ability to adapt your teaching to the students and allow them to participate in shaping the teaching. In a quality-conscious manner, you create good conditions for the student's development and learning and document it. You collaborate well with colleagues, guardians, and other contacts in the community that are part of your professional role.
