Resource Teacher for Short-Term Supervision in Norrköping
Are you creative, knowledgeable about disabilities, and enjoy working with youth? Then you could be our new resource teacher!
Who are we?
The Short-Term Supervision in Norrköping municipality offers placements in morning, afternoon, and vacation activities for youth aged 13-21 who have a decision according to LSS. We belong to the student health services at the education office.
Our mission is to provide youth with recreation and a meaningful leisure time where we stimulate development and learning while preparing them for adult life. The operation is based on a holistic view of the youth's needs and is designed to promote diverse contacts and social community while challenging the group and the youth's development.
Short-Term Supervision currently operates at six different units: Eken, Björken, Linden, Pilen, Aspen, and Kastanjen. In total, we are 60 driven and engaged employees working on the constant development of the operation. We are now looking for resource teachers for our high school unit, Linden.
Our organization collaborates with adapted primary and secondary schools to ensure that the experience for the youth and guardians is continuous and seamless.
It is important to strengthen the trust in one's own abilities and self-esteem among individual youth and the group, which is why we offer joint group activities where youth are challenged both as individuals and as part of a group. To achieve this, the operation is adapted to the youth's various conditions, different support needs, and plans are gradually created based on LGR 22 to reach the set goals.
Your tasks
With us at the high school units, you will work with youth who need support in eating, drinking, moving, personal hygiene, and dressing.
You will work to make daily life understandable and predictable using various methods and tools. Furthermore, you will enable youth to develop interests, which also includes participation in social contexts.
In our operation, our educators work in one or more teams with a common foundational view of the youth we meet and operate from a constantly salutogenic and promoting perspective.
As a resource teacher, you create the operation based on the abilities that align with the curriculum.
You will find strategies, create action plans, and document to meet the youth based on their abilities and participate in quality assurance of the operation through documentation.
You will be on school assignment four days a week where you act as a resource teacher in the school environment.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with a university degree in education or a vocational college education with a pedagogical focus. You have previous experience in educational work with various disabilities, preferably within short-term supervision.
You have good knowledge of successful working methods regarding disabilities. You have previously worked with youth with psychosocial problems, self-care plans, intellectual disabilities (ID), and neuropsychiatric disabilities (NPF).
You have a good ability to communicate using various support tools such as visual aids, sign language support, or digital tools.
As a person, you are secure and stable with good pedagogical insight where you adapt your approach and communication according to the youth and their various conditions.
You enjoy collaborating with others and contribute positively to the workgroup. Your focus and engagement lie in supporting the youth's opportunities to grow as individuals.
Our operation is dynamic, where you will work at a school four mornings a week. There will also be days when things do not always go as planned, so we see that you are a flexible person who can quickly adapt to new conditions.
You are motivated by using your creativity, and if you have an interest you can share for an active leisure time, we see that as a positive.
You find it easy to build good relationships with youth and create meaningful activities by picking up on what interests them.
The position requires you to have good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form.
