Your Responsibilities

Are you a licensed preschool teacher, curious, creative, playful, and enjoy teaching science, technology, and mathematics in an unconventional way? Do you like meeting diverse groups and working together in an exciting team where many different competencies collaborate? Then you might be the one we are looking for!

Being a teacher at Fenomenmagasinet means a varied job. The main task is to conduct school programs together with our youngest visitors. The school programs are connected to the current curriculum, are interactive, and aim to spark children's interest, curiosity, and creativity. In addition to teaching, you will participate in various development projects, some of which you will lead independently based on your area of expertise, while others will be done together with the team. You will also be involved in developing and implementing activities during school breaks, events, and other exciting activities, always aiming to increase interest in science and technology, both among students and the general public.

Fenomenmagasinet is a regional science center whose main mission is to stimulate interest in science, technology, and mathematics. We offer interactive and interdisciplinary educational programs, exhibitions, and activities in a dynamic learning environment that promotes curiosity and creativity. Our animal exhibition is a valued part of the operation, where corals, reptiles, and insects provide an alternative path to learning. Fenomenmagasinet is a popular destination for schools, families, and the public - a meeting place for learning, experiences, and inspiration. Fenomenmagasinet is one of Sweden's 20 science centers and is a member of the Swedish Science Centers, an association that nationally represents, promotes, and develops the industry.

Our mission is defined by a cooperation agreement between Linköping Municipality, Region Östergötland, and Linköping University. Linköping Municipality is the main authority for Fenomenmagasinet and is responsible for its organization as a results unit within the Education Administration.

Fenomenmagasinet is accessible to everyone, but our primary target group is children, youth, and teachers in Östergötland.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone with a preschool teacher license and experience, as well as a strong interest in teaching science, technology, and mathematics in preschool. You have previous employment in a curriculum-based preschool, and it is advantageous if you have also worked in a curriculum-based preschool class and/or lower primary school. It is also advantageous if you have experience leading development projects independently, special education competence, and good digital skills. Since outreach activities within Östergötland are part of the position, it is a requirement that you have a B driver's license for manual transmission.

You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge, of people's different conditions, and you adapt your way of conveying messages to the recipient. You can work independently as well as in a team. In your independent work, you take responsibility, structure, and drive your teaching and your projects and processes forward. You keep yourself updated within your profession and area of expertise, monitor the environment, and spot trends. In teamwork, you collaborate with colleagues and other contacts you meet in your professional role. In collaboration, you relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner, you listen and resolve conflicts constructively. You are outgoing and socially active in your professional role. You create new contacts and maintain relationships. In the team, you often come up with new ideas and new approaches to work-related issues, and you have innovative thinking that can be put into practice and leads to results. According to the curriculum (Lpfö18 revised 2025), you carry out your work so that children receive support in their language and communication development, and you are responsible for ensuring that each child can use the Swedish language in a rich and nuanced way. Therefore, it is a requirement that you have good communicative skills in both spoken and written Swedish.
