Resource Educator at Ljungsbroskolan Resource School

Do you want to work with small teaching groups where you support students on the autism spectrum throughout the school day? With us, you will be part of an organization with a high staff density characterized by close collaboration. Welcome to Ljungsbroskolan Resource School!

Your Responsibilities

At Ljungsbroskolan Resource School, students in grades 7-9 who are on the autism spectrum and have special needs for support in primary school attend. We have small student groups and a high staff density where teaching is conducted based on each student's conditions and needs. There are about 6-8 students in each group. The staff group at the resource school receives regular supervision from Consultative Support.

As a resource educator, you work with students' social and academic development in close collaboration with other staff within the Resource Schools. The position involves consciously and actively working for a good learning environment where each student has the opportunity to develop strategies for social interaction and lifelong learning based on their strengths.

In this position, you support both student groups and individual students in teaching, which means helping the student participate in teaching based on their conditions. The position also includes planning, organizing, and following up on activities before, during, and after the school day. In your role as a resource educator, you will also collaborate with students' guardians and other networks where authorities, leisure activities, and social actors may be involved.

In our organization, there is an opportunity to contribute your individual skills and experience in the mission to make a positive difference for the students and families we meet.

Your Workplace

Ljungsbro School is a grades 7-9 school located in central Ljungsbro, just over 10 km from Linköping city center. Our vision is to learn more through challenges, curiosity, and good relationships. The school has over 300 students in grades 7-9 with about 20 students in each class. The school's approximately 50 staff members continuously work to develop teaching to maximize students' learning. The best interests of the students are always in focus, and the organization is characterized by commitment, creativity, dynamism, and joy. Here, there is a well-developed student health team, and we are a mobile-free school.

Our resource school with a focus on autism has 18 student places in grades 7-9. You will be part of a team with resource educators, teachers, a full-time mentor, and a special educator. We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference for students who are struggling in school, enjoys working in a team with close colleagues, and likes to find creative solutions to challenges.

Who You Are

It is a requirement that you have a relevant education according to the employer, such as a childcare worker, teaching assistant, social educator, or leisure educator from adult education or have completed the Child and Leisure program in high school. It is also a requirement that you have experience working with children in curriculum-based activities as an employee, through internships, or voluntarily.
