Job Responsibilities

Your task as a camp leader at Akka's campgrounds is to be responsible for children aged 9-13 years and to plan and lead activities for this participant group. Camp involves around-the-clock activities for the youth and us leaders. As a leader, you live and interact with the children and youth at the campgrounds. Therefore, you need to be comfortable being away from home for at least 6 weeks.

A large part of the work involves meeting the needs of young people and being able to guide them in their decisions. To meet this, we believe that you as a person need to be secure in yourself, your leadership role, and able to set boundaries. You should also feel comfortable in more life-oriented conversations. It is largely similar to working in a school where there are demands to set boundaries while also creating relationships to ensure a safe environment.

Experience

You who are applying should have a strong interest in being outdoors or experience in outdoor education, as most of our activities are conducted outdoors. We believe that those with experience with children in the middle school age would fit this role as working with children requires difficult boundary setting and relationship building. We believe that those with experience with elementary school students have a good foundation to succeed in your work as a camp leader. Activities we do include hiking, building rafts, climbing, swimming, and cooking outdoors. We will also have artistic activities such as theater, dance, and singing. Disco, football tournaments, and theme days are also on the schedule.

Utepedagogik Sverige AB runs camp/camp activities at several different campgrounds across Sweden for children and youth aged 9-16 years, focusing on adventure and our activities are oriented towards outdoor educational activities. Employment Conditions

The position is a full-time job. You must be able to attend our training days on-site at the campgrounds in Värmland from April 30 to May 3, and June 6 to 11. During the summer, you need to be able to work, and thus be away from home for at least six weeks during the period from June 12 to August 16.
