The primary school/adapted primary school operation is part of the Education Administration. The operation includes 21 primary schools and an adapted primary school, with a total of approximately 4500 students. Five of the primary schools are secondary schools, while the others, with a few exceptions, cover grades F-6. The operation also includes after-school care.

Ekenässkolan (grades F-6 and after-school care) is located in a multicultural neighborhood in Motala, which means we work a lot with language-developing methods in all subjects. We have several years of experience using ICT in teaching. Our after-school activities regularly take place outdoors and also work with organized break activities during the school day.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a teaching assistant with experience working pedagogically with students with special needs. Your task is to be present in a class and provide support where needed, which often means working with students individually.

The placement is in a middle school class.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is flexible, confident, and proactive. You are low-key in your approach but understand the importance of clear boundaries. As a teaching assistant, you work to provide students with good conditions to participate in both collective and individual learning, in various teaching situations, in peer relationships, and in everyday activities. You are a confident adult and a good role model, with the ability to connect with students. You see each individual and create a safe environment in the school, collaborating with others to achieve set goals. You have good teamwork skills, are attentive, and have a professional demeanor. You also find it easy to communicate and collaborate with students, colleagues, and guardians.

Applicants should have a high school education from the child and youth program with a focus on pedagogical and social work or other education that the employer deems equivalent, and experience with students with NPF diagnoses is an advantage.

You have knowledge of analog and digital teaching materials in schools. You also have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

A valid extract from the criminal record is required for the position according to the Education Act.
