The International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University was established in 1994 and has since developed international and genuine interdisciplinary education and research focused on accelerating the transition to sustainability.

The International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics is now seeking an Administrative Officer with strong administrative skills and a sense of service. With us, you will have the opportunity to work in an international environment with students and staff from all over the world. You will be part of the institute's administrative department, which currently consists of five people.

Responsibilities and Duties

The role of the Administrative Officer involves administration and processing within a broad area and in various administrative systems. In this role, you will work closely with both students, staff, and management.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the head of department and program directors
  • Be responsible for the administration of doctoral education
  • Be responsible for general education and student administration
  • Be responsible for the department's work with course syllabi
  • Assist with the admission of new students and preparations for the autumn semester
  • Work in and provide support to teachers in the learning platform Canvas
  • Provide information and support to students
  • Be responsible for the educational pages on the web
  • Assist with support for the department's fundraising efforts
  • Organize staff meetings and various events for both students and staff
  • Provide support to external guests
  • Other administrative tasks such as room bookings, meeting bookings, as well as travel and hotel bookings.

Other administrative tasks may also be included in the position. Responsibilities may change over time.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position include:

  • Documented experience of qualified administrative work
  • Very good administrative skills, developed collaboration ability, independence, and initiative
  • Very good computer skills and good knowledge of and experience with the Office suite.
  • Very good language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

You enjoy working with service, have excellent collaboration skills, and can independently structure, plan, and manage a large number of administrative matters. The work pace is sometimes high, which requires flexibility and the ability to prioritize. You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks while being able to adapt to changing conditions and needs.

Desirable qualifications for the position include:

  • University education in a relevant field for the position or equivalent deemed comparable
  • Experience in administrative work within the higher education sector
  • Experience in educational or school administration
  • Experience with Lund University's administrative systems, routines, and regulations
  • Knowledge of government regulations and about being a government employee
  • Experience and interest in working in administrative support systems
  • Experience in publishing information on websites

Other Information

The position is permanent with a workload of 100 percent, with a start date according to agreement. A probationary period may be applied.
