Business Controller at Samat Nordic in Helsingborg

Samat Nordic in Helsingborg is recruiting a driven and business-oriented Business Controller.

Are you passionate about understanding operations, supporting managers in their daily decision-making, and turning financial insights into real business impact?

Do you want a role where you truly influence performance, profitability, and development? Then this could be your next career step.

This is a full-time position in an international and fast-moving environment.

About the position

As Business Controller at Samat Nordic, you will act as a strategic and operational partner to the management team in Sweden and the Group CFO in France.

Your mission is not only to analyze numbers – but to translate them into actionable insights that help managers run and develop their business more effectively.

You will work close to operations, gaining a deep understanding of the business, its challenges, and opportunities. Through dialogue, analysis, and proactive recommendations, you will support managers in:

  • Improving profitability
  • Identifying risks and opportunities
  • Driving performance and operational efficiency
  • Making well-founded investment decisions

Responsibilities

This is a role for someone who enjoys being hands-on in the business and who wants to influence both daily operations and long-term strategy.

Your responsibilities:

  • Act as Finance Business Partner to BU management – challenge, support, and guide decisions
  • Lead the budget and forecast processes in line with Group guidelines
  • Analyze KPIs and performance trends – and proactively propose improvement actions
  • Perform profitability analyses on customers, products, and projects
  • Support management with business cases and investment calculations
  • Contribute to the development and harmonization of Group controlling processes and tools
  • Participate in cross-functional development projects
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial and business analyses to support strategic decisions

Some travel within Europe may be required.

You will report to the Group CFO in France and have a dotted line to the BU Manager in Helsingborg (“Managing Director”).

Your profile

We believe you have:

  • At least 5 years of experience as Business Controller, Finance Business Partner, Financial Analyst, Auditor, or similar
  • Academic degree in finance, business administration, or equivalent
  • Strong experience in:
    • Budgeting & forecasting
    • KPI analysis and performance management
    • Business and investment analysis
    • Stakeholder management
  • Experience from transport, logistics, or industrial environments is a plus, but not required.
  • You are fluent in Swedish and English (written and spoken).
  • Strong skills in Excel and BI tools are required. Experience with Power BI and SAP (S/4HANA) is highly valued.

You are:

  • Business-driven – you understand operations, not only numbers
  • Proactive – you don’t wait to be asked, you identify opportunities yourself
  • Comfortable challenging managers in a constructive and solution-oriented way
  • Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented – while keeping the big picture
  • A strong communicator who builds trust at all levels
  • Curious, engaged, and motivated to create real business value
