We are looking for several personal assistants for a brand new assistant group in connection with a discharge process from LIVA at Nya Karolinska in Solna. The assignment involves a boy who is approximately 5 months old and has a tracheostomy.

As an assistant in this assignment, you will be offered a rewarding job with a cheerful, social, and cozy little boy in central Sundbyberg. The family consists of the boy's mother and father. As an assistant, you will work in close proximity to the boy - both at home and when the family goes for walks or outings. The family has an active lifestyle, and the mother, who will initially be on parental leave, plans to attend open preschool with the boy.

The assistance is provided as double assistance around the clock, which means that you will always work with another assistant. This creates security in the work and provides conditions for high quality, good cooperation, and shared responsibility.

Job Responsibilities

The boy's needs require supervision and interventions around the clock. Since he breathes through a tracheostomy tube, you will always work with another assistant to ensure that his breathing functions correctly.

The job responsibilities include monitoring breathing and airways, as well as preventing blockages in the tracheostomy tube through regular suctioning with a suction catheter, mucolytic inhalations, and mucus mobilization. The work also includes care, security, and presence in daily life. An important part of the assignment is therefore to create a safe, calm, and stimulating everyday life.

Employment Type, Working Hours, and What We Offer

We are looking for both permanent employees and hourly substitutes.

Permanent positions are offered as fixed-term contracts as long as the assignment lasts, with a fixed schedule. Full-time is generally not offered.

The working hours are active time around the clock and are divided into three shifts: day 08:00–15:00, evening 15:00–22:00, and night 22:00–08:00.

We offer paid introduction and training in collaboration with LIVA, clear routines, and close support in the assignment. Through workplace meetings and ongoing dialogue, there is an opportunity for participation and influence. We strive for self-managing workgroups with high autonomy, professional care, and the best possible quality for the client.

Introduction and Training

All training and introduction take place in close collaboration with LIVA's team and includes both practical bedside training and theoretical education. The introduction is paid, and no prior experience with tracheostomy is required.

We are looking for someone who has personal suitability for the assignment. For us, this means that you are responsible, caring, empathetic, and attentive. It is important that you are punctual and can keep time, but also flexible enough to sometimes step in to cover gaps in staffing. We see that you are a secure person and enjoy taking initiative, both independently and in interaction with others in a group. You have a natural sense of what it means to work in someone else's home and respectfully acknowledge the home environment and family dynamics in your role as an assistant. It is important that you, as an assistant, like children and that you enjoy the family's active and social lifestyle if you work during the day.

Other Requirements for You as an Assistant in This Assignment:

• Non-smoker.

• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

• Training as a nursing assistant or nurse is an advantage.

• Previous experience with tracheostomy is an advantage.

• Previous experience working with children is an advantage.

It is also desirable that you are cheerful, positive, and have a salutogenic approach. The chemistry and interaction between you as an assistant, the client, and his relatives are crucial for the quality and experience of the work.
