Welcome to us

Hägersten-Älvsjö is one of 11 district administrations in the City of Stockholm with about 3000 employees. Today, we are one of the city's largest districts with approximately 130,000 inhabitants. In Hägersten-Älvsjö, you have close access to the city, transportation, and nature. We offer a dynamic workplace with opportunities for you to develop in your role.
We are looking for you who want to work with us in the children’s unit!
In our unit, we support each other and prioritize a positive work environment where everyone feels welcome and appreciated.
The children’s unit consists of a unit manager and two investigation groups with a group leader in each group. The group leader leads our employees in daily work. There are support functions in the area in the form of mentors, emergency home administrators, and case support. In the children’s unit, social workers with diverse backgrounds and competencies work, which we see as a strength. We have a strong focus on children's participation and response.
We offer
To ensure a good start at your new workplace, we place great importance on your introduction, and you will receive support from our mentors and group leaders. The introduction is most intensive during your first year of employment. This means both individual support and method and process development in larger groups. As a social worker, you will be offered Signs of Safety training. You will have access to internal and external supervision as well as the opportunity to take part in the city's extensive training offerings.
We apply winter and summer working hours as well as flexible hours. You will receive a wellness allowance of 3000 SEK per year and have the option to apply for vacation exchange. Your role
You will work in one of our investigation groups with investigations and follow-ups of interventions according to SoL and LVU for children aged 0-12 years and their families. The work as a social worker is varied and significant. You will conduct investigations according to SoL and LVU, as well as follow up on approved interventions. We work according to BBiC (Children's Needs in Focus) and Signs of Safety, with support from, among others, EARL, and MI (motivational interviewing). The work also involves close collaboration with both internal and external partners such as preschools, schools, child health centers, child and adolescent psychiatry, and the police, among others. You will be part of a learning organization and have the opportunity to contribute to the proactive adaptation of the working methods we are creating long-term to meet the future social services with early, preventive, and qualitative interventions for our target groups.
Your qualifications and experience
We are looking for you who have:
- A degree in social work
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
- Experience as a social worker within the authority for children and youth
It is advantageous to have:

As a social worker, you need to be secure and stable, as well as have a high degree of personal maturity. You need to have a good empathetic ability and be able to create good relationships with children and their families as well as all parties you collaborate with. You work both independently and in a structured manner by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. You work well with complex issues and can quickly analyze situations, solve problems, and make decisions. You can see opportunities, convey hope, and meet people in a respectful manner.
