Description

Tumba High School is a secondary school with a strong vision of creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Our AST (Autism Spectrum Disorder) program is a central part of this work, where we offer a specially adapted education for students with autism spectrum disorders. We work in smaller groups with high staff density and focus on structure, clarity, and individualized support. The main task in this case is to care for a student who can sometimes be outwardly aggressive, which is why it is important to work in a low-arousal manner and be able to set boundaries when necessary.

Responsibilities

As a social pedagogue, you will be a key person in ensuring a functioning school experience for the student, where they achieve results and can be included with other peers within the AST support. You will work closely with the student, teachers, and other special educational resources. Your main responsibility is to provide social and emotional support to the student so that they can reach their full potential both academically and socially.

Your role includes, among other things:

• Providing individual support to a student with a focus on social skills, strategies, and structure.
• Working closely with teachers to create an adapted learning environment.
• Supporting the student during breaks, lunches, and extracurricular activities to promote social inclusion.
• Collaborating with guardians and external contacts (e.g., habilitation and child psychiatric services).
• Participating in and leading social activities and group exercises.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained social pedagogue or has another relevant higher education that is deemed equivalent. It is a requirement that you have documented experience working with youth with ASD.

• Relationship-building and have a natural ability to build trust.
• Flexible and solution-focused in unforeseen situations.
• Patient and empathetic, with a genuine interest in each student's unique needs.
• Collaborative and enjoy working in a team.
• Willing to act if the student goes beyond what is acceptable regarding their and others' safety.

Conditions

Collective agreement. Temporary employment for the spring term 2026. The position should cover at least 75 percent, but 100 percent is also possible during the spring term.
