Ekeskolan is located in Örebro and teaches students with visual impairments and additional disabilities from preschool class to grade 10. The teaching aims to provide good conditions for students' development and learning as well as improved academic results. Our staff works extensively with form and sensitivity for all senses. We offer accommodation for students who cannot commute to school every day.

Ekeskolan is a national special school, which means we have students from all over Sweden. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a substitute teacher, you may work in various areas at Ekeskolan during both school hours and after-school hours. There may be a need for substitutes as teaching assistants or residential counselors. You will be available when needs arise at short notice. Being available in this way means that a new employment relationship is established each time you are called upon for work. Offers for such temporary employment are usually made verbally. You have the right to decline assignments offered to you.

At Ekeskolan, all teaching is based on the special school's regulations and the curriculum of the special school or adapted primary school. Teaching, environment, and communication are adapted to each student's needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• has basic knowledge of child development and various disabilities
• has basic computer skills

It is an advantage if you have:

• experience working with students with visual impairments and additional disabilities.
• knowledge of students' development in communication and alternative communication methods.
• experience working with children with neuropsychiatric disorders (NPF).
• experience working with students who are deafblind.
• knowledge of medical care.
• experience working with people with mobility impairments.

As staff at Ekeskolan, you are expected to participate in the planning, implementation, and development of the school's activities. Social interaction and communication are important in our work.

You are flexible and have good collaboration skills with your colleagues, management, guardians, and other staff at the school. We value qualities such as being secure, stable, reliable, and responsive.
