Idrottsgymnasiet Örebro, part of Virginska Gymnasiet, is looking for a driven and open-minded teacher in Natural Science combined with Mathematics or another subject. We are looking for someone who is passionate about sports and wants to help our students combine their studies with their sports interests or careers.

About the position

The position includes teaching in the subjects of Natural Science combined with Mathematics or another subject. We also place great importance on mentorship, which means you are expected to dedicate time and engagement to your mentees.

Examples of job responsibilities:

• plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in the subjects you are qualified to teach
• use methods and approaches that lead to the best possible achievement of goals
• provide mentorship for students/perform class leader duties
• support students' social development
• create a good learning environment
• stay updated on current research in your field
• know and follow the applicable laws, policies, and procedures of the organization and work and document in the existing operational systems

About the workplace

Virginska Gymnasiet is one of four upper secondary schools in Örebro. The school consists of both national programs, a national gymnasium for the deaf and hard of hearing, introductory programs, and adapted upper secondary school. Idrottsgymnasiet is the municipality's most successful educational institution based on students' goal achievement, well-being, and number of applicants. The institution consists of four upper secondary programs and about fifteen different sports options. Virginska has approximately 1400 students, of which IDGY has about 800 students. The number of staff at IDGY is about 55.

Qualifications

You easily adapt to changing circumstances and see opportunities in changes. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with students and other staff, as well as document what the organization requires in writing.

Requirements:

• licensed upper secondary school teacher in Natural Science combined with Mathematics or another subject, or alternatively a qualifying degree that entitles you to a license

Meritorious:

• experience in your own sports practice
• knowledge of young people's conditions for active sports participation at both individual and organizational levels
