About the Position

Norrby Preschools consists of Norrstjärnan and Hästskon preschools which have a common management team and child health services. We actively work to develop teaching with a focus on a language and knowledge-developing approach. Here you will meet engaged educators who work project-oriented with children's needs and interests as a starting point. You will meet children and guardians from various cultural backgrounds.

Examples of Responsibilities:

• work proactively and preventively, as well as follow up and evaluate measures taken together with those involved
• conduct educational investigations regarding the need for special support
• work together with school management, child health teams, and other preschool staff to create an accessible, good, and learning environment for the children in preschool
• be responsible for being a qualified conversation partner and guide educators, initiating the right interventions
• independently lead and support the development of educational work to meet the needs of all children
• collaborate with external actors such as habilitation, child health services, etc.
• be familiar with and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the organization
• work and document in the existing operational systems

About the Workplace

Norrby Preschools consists of Norrstjärnan preschool with eight departments and one department for care during inconvenient hours, as well as Hästskon preschool which consists of five departments. The preschools are located in the north, close to both forest and urban environments.

Within the Preschool and Primary School Administration, approximately 4,530 employees work. We meet the young residents of Örebro from the first day in preschool to the last day in primary school.

Qualifications

In the role of special education teacher, you are expected to be available to the working teams and work closely with the operations. You are secure in your role, take responsibility for your tasks, and have a good understanding of how people absorb knowledge in different ways. You are attentive and flexible and collaborate well with others. Since the position involves some freedom under responsibility, you need to have the ability to structure your tasks and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge as you are a knowledge resource for others. Communicating clearly and ensuring that messages are conveyed is important to you, as is the importance of reminding and following up.

Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, as well as document what the organization requires in writing. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

Requirements

• licensed preschool teacher, or hold a qualification that entitles you to a license (alternatively, a teacher for younger ages)
• special education degree, 90 credits

Meritorious

• experience working as a special education teacher
• experience guiding educators

Additional Information

Preschool teacher license must be attached to the application along with a qualification list, or alternatively, a diploma that entitles you to a license.
