About the position

This position is a temporary contract where you will be responsible for physical education teaching in grades 1-6. As a teacher, you will be part of a team that works based on strong mentorship but with a flexible approach across the classes in the school. We work from a student-centered perspective which gives students increased influence in the teaching. The team meeting is your most important time of the week as much of the joint planning and systematic quality work is carried out there. In addition to these meetings, we have pedagogical conferences on a weekly basis where internal professional development takes place through our lead teachers.

Examples of tasks:

• plan, implement and evaluate teaching in physical education and health for grades 1-6
• use methods and approaches for the best possible goal achievement for our students
• contribute to developing the teaching
• teamwork related to the school's grades 1-6
• together with the school's staff participate and contribute to the development work at the school

About the workplace

Stora Mellösa School is a F–6 school with approximately 200 students. The school is beautifully located a few miles east of Örebro. We are organized into four teams; after-school care, F-3, 4-6, and the special team. The activities are permeated by our profile of health and learning in interaction and our values. Together, we strive for a broad health perspective where the importance of both mental and physical health is emphasized. We place great importance on value-based work to create a safe school with a good learning environment for our students. Stora Mellösa School is an intrapreneurship which means greater freedom and greater responsibility. The school has been recognized for its qualitative work with students. We are also a training school where we collaborate with the teacher education at Örebro University and regularly receive students during their practical training.

Qualifications

As a teacher, it is important that you have good collaboration skills where you listen and communicate and contribute to a calm and safe school environment. You should also have knowledge of children's development and learning as well as the competence and ability to adapt teaching based on the group and individual students' needs and conditions. You communicate clearly, ensure that messages are conveyed, and remind and follow up. You create engagement and participation and can lead and motivate student groups. You can also create and maintain relationships. Furthermore, you easily adapt to changing circumstances, can quickly change your perspective and approach, and see opportunities in changes. We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• teacher certification with authorization to teach physical education and health for grades 1-6, or an equivalent qualification that entitles you to certification

Meritorious:

• experience of working in primary school
• experience of working in health and sports
• experience of grading
• experience of working in a learning platform, e.g., It's learning
