Environmental Inspector with a Focus on Food
The Community Building Administration offers creative discussions, a fast pace, solution-focused working methods, and gives you the opportunity to drive and participate in changing community building processes. We are a collaborative administration between Hällefors, Lindesberg, Ljusnarsberg, and Nora municipalities with a broad mandate within the municipalities' community building processes.
The administration consists of three main areas of operation: technical operations, planning and projects, and building and environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As an environmental inspector with a focus on food, you will work with supervision and processing according to food legislation. Your work involves conducting inspection visits, writing reports, making decisions, and handling event-driven supervision, such as complaints and suspected food poisoning.
You will have an advisory role where you provide guidance to both food business operators and the public to contribute to good food handling in the municipality. The work involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with colleagues within the food group and other units.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a few years of experience in food supervision and a relevant higher education, such as an environmental and health protection inspector, food engineer, or other equivalent education. You have good knowledge of food legislation and preferably experience in supervision in areas such as over-the-counter medications, alcohol, and tobacco.
To succeed in the role, you are confident in making objective assessments, setting clear requirements, and making decisions with integrity. You have strong communication skills and can create trusting relationships in meetings with both operators and the public. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to different situations are important qualities, as well as a structured approach where you can plan and prioritize your work effectively. You thrive in a role where you can take your own initiatives but also appreciate collaboration and knowledge sharing with colleagues. Furthermore, you should be able to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both spoken and written.
The position requires a B driver's license.
OTHER
Union representatives can be reached via the municipality's switchboard, phone 0581-810 00. We only accept applications via Public Jobs. We kindly decline contact with advertisers and staffing/recruitment companies.
