About the Position

We are looking for a secure and curious preschool teacher to join our team. The preschool has five departments and is located in a multicultural area where you will have the opportunity to meet children and guardians from various cultural backgrounds. The guiding principle of the education is to strengthen the child's communication, language development, and self-esteem through joyful learning, which is a common focus area for all preschools in Vivalla.

As a preschool teacher within the Vivalla preschool area, you will receive continuous professional development, focusing on increasing all educators' knowledge in language and knowledge-developing methods (SKUA). You will also have access to digital tools, as well as work clothes for both indoor and outdoor use. All preschool teachers have scheduled reflection time with their team and scheduled individual pedagogical development time.

Examples of Responsibilities:

• be familiar with and follow the curriculum, laws, policies, and routines
• lead, organize, plan, implement, and develop the teaching
• be responsible for documenting, following up, analyzing, and developing the education
• use methods and approaches in education based on scientific evidence and proven experience
• work to ensure that each child and the group’s needs are met by applying a democratic approach
• provide a good environment for care, development, play, and learning
• be responsible for the content, design, and implementation of development talks
• work and document in the operational system

About the Workplace

Förskolan Författaren is located on the outskirts of multicultural Vivalla, close to forests, several lovely playgrounds, and Boglundsängen Nature Reserve. The preschool opened in August 2016 in newly built facilities. Författaren is a municipal preschool. Diversity is a natural part of our work, as most children have a different mother tongue than Swedish. The staff is trained and experienced in working with language development. We also have our own chef who prepares our meals.

Qualifications

As a person, you are secure in your role and can see the whole picture. You have the ability to collaborate well with both your colleagues and children and guardians. You have a good understanding of how children absorb knowledge and can thus adapt the teaching based on children's different conditions. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in such a way that you can communicate with children, relatives, and other staff, as well as document what the operation requires in writing.

Requirements

• licensed preschool teacher, or hold a qualification that entitles you to a license

Meritorious

• experience working as a preschool teacher
• experience working with children with special needs
• experience actively working with language development and with children who speak Swedish as a second language
• experience and/or training in Guiding Interaction (ICDP)
