Labor Market Unit

The Labor Market Unit belongs to the Adult Education and Labor Office, which also includes financial assistance and adult education.

The unit currently consists of 14 dedicated employees who work together to help more residents of Värmdö achieve self-sufficiency through work or studies.

About Fritidsbanken

Fritidsbanken is like a library – but with sports and outdoor equipment. Everyone can borrow, everything is free, and we reuse equipment. Here, residents can borrow everything from skis, ice skates, and balls to tents, life jackets, and camping stoves. The operation promotes movement, equality, and sustainable consumption.

Fritidsbanken Värmdö has started a collection of equipment and conducted pop-up activities at Grisslinge beach and Ekvallen during 2025. Now we are entering the next development phase – to establish a permanent Fritidsbank in 2026.

Job Description

As a supervisor, you are a key person in the establishment and actively participate in the work to open Fritidsbanken in 2026. You work closely with participants in work training and temporary employment, contributing to creating structure, security, and development of both work ability and self-confidence. You are also part of the daily operations and outreach activities.

In practice, this means that you have both a supervisory role and operational responsibility for Fritidsbanken's daily activities. A large part of your workday is spent with participants in the facility, where you together receive visitors, manage lending, sort and repair equipment, and prepare and conduct activities.

The role combines social change work with practical, service-oriented work in a public operation.

Some evening and weekend work may occur.

Your Responsibilities

• Supervise and support participants in their daily tasks
• Create structure, security, and motivation
• Follow up and document participants' development
• Receive and assess equipment and perform simple repairs
• Register equipment in the lending system
• Participate in collections, pop-up activities, trial events, and school visits
• Collaborate with internal and external actors, such as social services and the Employment Agency.

Qualifications

• Experience in supervision or educational work
• Completed upper secondary education
• Experience working with people in need of support, preferably within labor market initiatives
• Interest and experience in sports, outdoor life, or community activities
• Good organizational skills and social competence
• Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• Driver's license B.

Meritorious:

• Knowledge of simple repairs of sports and leisure equipment.

For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.

The position is a permanent employment.
