About us
Väsby Direkt is the contact center and municipal reception of Upplands Väsby municipality – the natural entry point to the municipality for residents, businesses, and other stakeholders. Our mission is to make it easy to live and work in Upplands Väsby through high accessibility, clear information, and quality service. We receive and handle a large influx of inquiries via phone, email, web, and visits, and strive to resolve as much as possible at the first contact. When a case requires processing, we ensure that it is documented correctly and reaches the right function in the municipality.
About 25 employees work at Väsby Direkt, distributed across several specialist groups. You will belong to the specialist group for social services, which meets individuals in various life situations where reception, integrity, and quality are central. The group works closely with social services to ensure that the information is correct, consistent, and up-to-date, and to contribute to smooth contact paths into the municipality.

About the position
As a customer guide in the specialist group for Social Services and Elderly Lots, you are part of the municipality's frontline and meet residents in various life situations. You provide factual, clear, and equal information and guidance – with a working method that follows laws, regulations, and routines. A large part of the contacts concern financial assistance and elderly care, but other areas of social services may also be relevant, such as family law.
The position also means that you are part of our elderly lots assignment, where you, in addition to ordinary contact paths, also meet our residents in personal meetings at the municipal reception. You primarily support the elderly and their relatives by creating clarity around contact paths, next steps, and what support is available, focusing on a safe, respectful, and professional reception.
In your daily work, you receive inquiries via phone, written channels, and personal visits, and guide regarding contact paths, application processes, documentation, and next steps. You help residents, relatives, and representatives understand what applies and ensure that cases are documented correctly and, if necessary, forwarded to the right case handler or function. You also have access to social services' operational systems and can, after necessary confidentiality checks, retrieve and report on case status, processing steps, and decisions.
You are part of a team of customer guides within social services and elderly lots who collaborate continuously with social workers, assistance assessors, and other operations to keep information and routines updated. An important goal in the assignment is to create safety and clarity in every contact, contribute to consistent and correct guidance, and ensure that the resident quickly gets the right support in the municipality.
Are you the one we are looking for?
We are looking for someone who has:
- A degree in social work.
- Experience of authority exercise within social services, especially in financial assistance and elderly care.
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as the ability to explain information in a clear and respectful manner.
- Good ability to express yourself in English, both spoken and written, as well as the ability to explain information in a clear and respectful manner.
- Good digital skills and the ability to work in several systems simultaneously and quickly search for and compile information.
- The ability to work systematically with documentation and follow routines, including handling information with regard to confidentiality.
It is meritorious if you have:
- Experience in service and guidance in contact with people, where reception and integrity are important (e.g., within public operations, care, authority, counseling, or similar).
- Experience working in social services' operational systems and/or case management systems, as well as retrieving and interpreting information in cases.
- Experience in handling difficult conversations and providing guidance in situations that may be complex or sensitive.
- Language skills beyond Swedish and English. Particularly meritorious: Finnish (Upplands Väsby municipality is a Finnish administrative area) and Arabic or Persian.
