About the position

The trainee program is a 12-month program where you as a trainee will meet various key functions in the company and build a strong network, both in Sweden and abroad. To build genuine business knowledge, you will spend parts of the year with colleagues in our business areas. Here you will participate in everything from pumping concrete and casting concrete elements to strategy and customer meetings. Most of the time will be spent in different departments where you will be involved in and drive various development initiatives aimed at understanding their operations, but also contribute to development. The setup of your program will be tailored based on your educational background, interests, and prior knowledge.

The year will conclude with a few months abroad in one of our subsidiaries, where you will help drive a development project. This means that the position involves varied tasks, both at a strategic and operational level, to gain a broad understanding of the company. As a Trainee, you will quickly become part of the team and be a member of “Team Thomas”.

Throughout the program, you will have the CEO and Group President of Thomas Concrete Group as your mentor, but you will also receive a lot of inspiration, support, and guidance from several other key individuals in the company who look forward to seeing you grow and develop alongside them.

The program will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the business and its operations, as well as in-depth knowledge of the construction and concrete industry.

The Future

Once the trainee program is completed, you will transition into a permanent position. What that will be is something we will determine together. There will then be opportunities to continue your development journey within Thomas Concrete Group, both in Sweden and in the USA, Germany, or Poland. Who knows, maybe you will become their future leader or perhaps their technical specialist.

We are looking for someone who

• Is an engineer or has completed at least a master's degree in business administration. You have 300 credits and we prefer an educational focus in areas such as civil engineering, industrial economics, business administration, mechanical engineering, or technical physics or chemistry (with graduation no later than August 2026).
• Has excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, as both languages will be used in both speech and writing.

Preferred (but not required) qualifications include:

• Experience from volunteer work or other engagements alongside your studies
• Language skills in German and/or Polish

You naturally have an interest in our industry and want to contribute to Thomas Concrete Group's long-term goals, culture, and vision.

As a person, you are driven, ambitious, and often want to perform a little more and better than the original plan. You find it enjoyable to tackle all levels of problem-solving and do not give up until you achieve the desired result. To reach set goals with others, you contribute with humility, joy at work, and good communication skills. You are inspired when you can use your analytical and strategic skills just as much as when you can be part of creating results in a group.

The company was established in 1955 in Karlstad by Martin Thomas and currently operates in the USA, Poland, Germany, Norway, and Sweden. The head office is located in Gothenburg. The group has 2300 employees and generates approximately 12 billion SEK in revenue. The subsidiary in Sweden is Thomas Betong AB.
