We are now looking for engaged and competent special teachers for our newly built adapted primary school, where every detail is designed to meet the needs of the students. Here, you will have the chance to influence, develop, and make a real difference – every day. Skurup Municipality's adapted primary school is a newly started operation that will move into its own premises in the autumn of 2026. Here, we will teach approximately 20 students in grades 1-9 within subject and subject-oriented adapted primary school. Our team consists of special teachers, teaching assistants, and leisure educators – all with a common goal: to create an accessible, individualized, and inspiring learning environment where each student has the opportunity to grow based on their abilities.

The school will offer modern, accessible, and pedagogical learning environments. With a clear structure and a holistic perspective, we create a safe and developing school environment where every employee plays a significant role in the students' learning and well-being.

The adapted primary school with an associated leisure center will offer both subject and subject area orientations. Teaching will be organized in teams with special teachers, leisure educators, and teaching assistants where students meet in flexible teaching groups, composed based on age, individual needs, and cognitive prerequisites. This gives each student the best possible conditions for learning, development, and safety.

Our school is a newly opened initiative with state-of-the-art facilities, adapted learning environments, and a strong focus on inclusive teaching. We work across subjects and with a clear structure to create safety and learning for students with various functional variations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

In the role of special teacher, you have a clear learning assignment where the student's development and goal fulfillment are at the center. You are a secure and stable educator who creates structure, clarity, and study peace, even in situations that may be challenging. With a professional approach, you contribute to removing barriers to learning and create accessible learning environments for all students.

You meet changes in the operation with curiosity and flexibility and see them as a natural part of the school's development work. By analyzing students' needs and adapting teaching and interventions based on different prerequisites, you actively work to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed in their learning.

A central part of the assignment is collaboration. You build trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues and contribute special educational competence to the collegial learning. You are attentive, communicative, and clear in your feedback, and have a good ability to translate pedagogical assessments into concrete pedagogical interventions.

To succeed in the assignment, you have a good understanding of people's different prerequisites and an inclusive view of learning.

As a special teacher, you will:

• Teach within subjects and subject areas
• Actively participate in all types of teaching, including swimming and physical education, as well as going on excursions.
• Need to be adaptable, read, and follow students' needs in the moment.
• Manage outwardly aggressive behavior with a low-arousal response.
• Guide colleagues in pedagogical matters and adaptations.
• Document, plan, and evaluate teaching according to governing documents and the student's needs.
• Develop pedagogical strategies and adaptations together with colleagues and student health.
• Be a key person in the school's construction and pedagogical direction.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a special teacher's degree with a specialization in intellectual disabilities
• Has experience working in adapted primary schools.
• Is secure in your professional role, flexible, and solution-focused
• Has a good ability to document, plan, and evaluate teaching.
• Has an interest in collegial learning and guiding others in pedagogical development.
• Wants to help build an operation where students' learning is at the center.
