The Swedish Police Authority is Sweden's largest authority with approximately 40,700 employees across the country. The IT department is an important part of the crime prevention and crime-fighting work, and IT is one of the most important tools to streamline the police and enhance the quality of police work.
The unit for Investigation, Prosecution, and Forensic Systems has overall responsibility for the development and lifecycle management of system support within investigation, prosecution, collection, and registers. The unit is also responsible for providing IT support within forensics.
The section for Forensic Systems operates in one of the most complex and advanced areas within the police, gathering, processing, and analyzing all forms of evidence within the police's crime-fighting mission.
Job Description
We are embarking on an exciting journey and are now building a completely new development team – therefore, we are looking for more skilled system developers who want to be part of it from the start and make a real societal impact. With us, you will work closely with the police's specialists in crime fighting, such as forensics experts in DNA, fingerprints, and facial recognition. Your work directly contributes to developing technical solutions that enhance legal security and efficiency in one of society's most important missions.
As a system developer with us, you will be part of an engaged, self-organizing, and agile team with high competence and strong team spirit. Together, you are responsible for the entire development chain – from idea and needs analysis to design, implementation, and delivery. To understand the needs of the business and create precise solutions, you will also conduct business visits and maintain ongoing dialogue with users and experts.
Qualifications
This is an opportunity for you who have:
· Relevant education in IT, or equivalent relevant work experience that the Swedish Police Authority deems equivalent
· At least 3 years of work experience in system development focusing on Java or Kotlin
· Experience with Spring Boot
· Experience with Docker or Kubernetes and managing container-based applications
· Experience with CI/CD pipelines running on Jenkins
· Experience with GitOps
· Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English
The employment requires Swedish citizenship.
It is advantageous if you also have:
· Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular
· Experience with iOS and SwiftUI
· Experience with Confluence and JIRA
· Experience working in a larger company or authority
· Experience as a team lead in a system development team
