SQL Database Administrator at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a SQL Database Administrator, you will be part of an engaged operations team responsible for ensuring that the core and support systems function for over 20,000 employees of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service. You will work with lifecycle management of MS SQL database platforms, which includes development, installation, configuration, upgrading, and decommissioning. Performance optimization, security, and scalability are important aspects to ensure the operation of services and systems, as well as standardized routines for backup, recovery, and monitoring.

You are used to collaborating with others. You are secure, stable, and have self-awareness with the ability to structure your work approach to drive your processes forward. In your work, you take initiative, start activities, and achieve results. You have a good understanding of how to acquire knowledge and adapt your way of conveying your message based on the recipient.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A relevant degree from a university/college or other education combined with experience that the employer deems relevant. High school education - alternatively, you have other education/experience that we consider relevant.
  • Experience in installation and configuration.
  • Experience in backup and recovery.
  • Experience in user management.
  • Experience in troubleshooting.
  • Experience in development, daily operations, and management of MS SQL database platforms.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • Certifications in MS SQL.
  • Relevant courses in MS SQL.
  • Several years of experience with MS SQL.
  • Experience in clustering.
  • Experience in monitoring.
  • Experience in performance tuning.
  • Skills in SQL scripting.
  • Experience with the systems of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
  • Knowledge of the processes of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service.
