Job Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who wants to be part of an important assignment as a mentor for young people.
The role suits you if you enjoy a varied everyday life, like meeting people, and want to contribute to ensuring that young people receive a safe and positive introduction to working life.
In this role, you will:
- Introduce young people to the workplace and their tasks.
- Provide daily guidance and ensure that work is carried out safely, correctly, and according to procedures.
- Plan, distribute, and follow up on tasks.
- Be a support for the young people.
- Provide continuous feedback and encourage development.
- Work to ensure that the young people feel comfortable, develop, and follow the workplace's rules and guidelines.
The position is a temporary employment during daytime from June 15 to August 14. The city offers summer jobs for youth in 3 periods, each lasting 3 weeks.
Period 1: June 15 - July 3
Period 2: July 6 - July 24
Period 3: July 27 - August 14
You have the opportunity in your application to indicate which of the above periods you can work. We would prefer that you work all periods.
Qualifications
You need to have completed a high school diploma and relevant work experience for the position. Additionally, you need experience working with children and young people and have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
It is an advantage if you have a B driver's license and if you have further education that is deemed relevant for the role. If you have previously worked as a mentor, been active in sports or community life, or have experience in outdoor maintenance or service occupations like retail, we see this as a plus.
We are looking for someone who is stable, secure, and remains calm even in pressured situations. As a person, you take initiatives that lead to results, whether you work independently or together with others. At the same time, you are responsible and take charge of both your own and the group's tasks. You always keep the focus on those you are here for and do your best to ensure that tasks are performed correctly while following up on results. You also have a pedagogical ability and understand how different individuals absorb knowledge, which allows you to create engagement and participation.
In this recruitment, we will not ask for a personal letter as an application document. Instead, you will be asked to answer a number of questions where we ask you to describe your competence.
