The Department of Individual and Family Care is in an exciting phase where the operations are changing and expanding to meet the needs of the residents of Borås. We are placing greater emphasis on preventive work and service initiatives and are now looking for a social advisor for extended home visits. Extended home visits are part of a health-promoting and preventive effort where parents are offered more home visits than the regular ones provided through child health care. The goal is to strengthen and support parents in their parenting during the child's first year of life. Do you want to be part of this? As a social advisor, you will be part of the preventive work of the Department of Individual and Family Care. The operations are under development, and therefore we are expanding the team with more employees, which gives you the opportunity to contribute to the design of work methods and approaches. You will work in a preventive team at one or more family centers, in close collaboration with another social advisor, child health care, and educators. The work is characterized by high accessibility and support for families through home visits, conversations, and group activities. The workplace is safe, warm, and development-oriented.

The home visits are offered to families who have had their first child - or who are having their first child in Sweden and are conducted together with staff from child health care and the preventive social services. As a social advisor, you contribute to building trust in social services and community support, and act as a link between the family and society. Through home visits, a safe and relaxed atmosphere is created where the family is in their everyday life. This facilitates conversations and makes it easier to identify both needs and resources within the family.

As a social advisor at the family center, you have an important role in supporting and guiding families at an early stage, before problems become significant. Through close collaboration with other activities at the family center, families in need of support are identified, and you offer individual advice and support conversations as well as group parenting support. You also lead parenting education programs such as COS - the Safety Circle's parenting course and ABC, where you help guardians strengthen their parenting role. To make the social advisor's role more accessible and well-known, you also participate in the open preschool's activities and conduct home visits in collaboration with the child health center (BVC) for new parents in the area and participate in SIP meetings to ensure coordinated support. In your role, you also guide parents in contacts with authorities and serve as consultative support for other professional groups that meet families with small children at risk.

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has an equivalent academic education. Experience in social work with children and parents is a requirement, as well as preferably experience working with authority enforcement within child and family services. Training in various methods such as MI and parenting support programs ABC and COS is advantageous. You need to have a professional approach and the ability to create trusting relationships, be able to work both individually and in groups. Additionally, you have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
