Assistant Needed for Client in Gothenburg/Askim

We are looking for an assistant for fixed hours and two assistants as hourly employees for our client who lives with his family in Gothenburg/Askim. He is a 14-year-old boy with epilepsy (EP) who communicates with single words. We need to strengthen the work team around the client and are looking for someone who is responsible and caring.

The daily work consists of helping with tasks he cannot do himself. You will primarily work in his home, so you need to be humble and attentive to both him and his family. The job involves being present for the client. You also need to adapt to all the environments he is in. There may be heavy transfers due to epilepsy, so good physical condition is a requirement.

The client's interests include horseback riding, puzzles, taking the bus/train, going for walks, and observing the surroundings. There is a rabbit at home, and our client loves animals, so you should not be allergic to furry pets. The position is perfect for students as the shifts are scheduled for afternoons/nights and weekends. We are looking for a flexible and creative person who can motivate the client in suitable activities based on his daily condition.

Role and Experience of the Assistant

As an assistant for our client, you are expected to work independently, be secure, responsible, positive, empathetic, and proactive. You should see opportunities and be able to guide and motivate the client when needed while understanding when it is appropriate to take a step back. We work in a low-arousal manner, which means you need to be calm and empathetic in your interactions.

As an assistant, you need to be flexible regarding working hours since we in the workgroup manage staffing if someone is sick or on vacation – we support our client and each other. We work together to make the client's everyday life as good as possible.

Desirable Experience and Requirements

• Swedish spoken and written.
• Not allergic to furry pets.
• Good physical condition.
• Experience in personal assistance, childcare, or other healthcare services is desirable but not required.
• Experience with epilepsy (EP).

Working Hours/Employment Rate

• Start immediately or as agreed.
• Working hours are afternoons on weekdays, daytime on weekends, and nights every day of the week. During school holidays, also daytime.
• One position is for 20 hours a week, but during school holidays, working hours are extended, and for those who may work active nights, there is an opportunity for more hours.
• Two positions as hourly employees – extra as needed during regular assistants' sick leave and vacation.

We apply salary according to Fremia. Collective agreement. We offer wellness and training.
