The support includes all common tasks such as leisure and household chores, where care tasks are also a natural part of the work. It is important to be attentive and promote the residents' opportunities for development and independent living.

As a support educator, you are responsible for ensuring that the decided methods and working approaches are implemented in the organization and in your work with the residents. You also work to support, motivate, and guide both residents and colleagues, as well as ensure follow-up and evaluation of achieved results. When working with implementation plans and social documentation, you provide support to other colleagues.

Since we are an organization that wants to stay updated, it is part of your role to seek new knowledge and information about new methods and working approaches within LSS. You will also help develop action plans for specific residents together with your colleagues and manager.

Our support educators within the disability department are part of a larger network run by our method developers. This means that you will regularly meet colleagues from other operations within the department to exchange experiences. Our method developers also offer training/guidance to all our staff groups as needed. As a support educator at Kvarnfallsvägen, you will regularly collaborate with the educators at Soldatängen's service housing.

The job suits you if you can work days, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has completed post-secondary education as a support educator, specializing in the disability field, or equivalent vocational education comprising at least 200 YH credits. You have at least one year of work experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, and/or psychiatric symptoms. You are confident in working with methods such as low-arousal approaches, IBIC (Individual Needs in Center), and AAC.

You have good knowledge of the Act on Support and Service (LSS), the Social Services Act, and the values that permeate work within the disability field. You also have basic computer skills and are used to documenting in operational systems.

It is an advantage if you have experience in guidance, pedagogical development work, and/or responsibility for quality work in the organization. A B driver's license is also an advantage.

As a person, you are responsible and have a respectful approach. You have the ability to create safe and trusting relationships. You have good pedagogical skills and confidence in structuring, planning, and ensuring the quality of the work. You are engaged, attentive, and professional in your interactions with residents, relatives, and colleagues. You are a flexible problem solver and can work independently as well as in a team.

Good to know

Provided that you meet the mandatory requirements for the position, it is mandatory for the position to undergo a digital language test to ensure competence at the B2 level according to the Council of Europe's standard before the interview. The residences are adapted for individuals covered by the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons. Here, 6 individuals live in their own apartments. At Kvarnfallsvägen Group Home, we work with situation- and activity-adapted working methods.
