Lawyer with expertise in environmental and urban planning issues

We are now looking for a lawyer with expertise in environmental and urban planning issues who wants to help develop the legal support to contribute to legal certainty in the municipality.

Your mission

The mission of the legal and administrative unit includes providing legal support to all committees and the municipal council, being responsible for a consolidated case management process and decision support to the municipal executive board and the municipal council, as well as conducting qualitative investigations in response to, among other things, referrals and motions. We currently have about 40 employees.

The position of municipal lawyer is varied and involves many points of contact, both internally and externally. One day you are responsible for the municipality's statement to the Land and Environmental Court, the next day you participate in committee meetings and assist project managers with advice on, for example, the municipality's urban development projects. You also provide legal advice regarding the municipality's roads, streets, and other public spaces as well as park and nature areas. The work often takes place in group form together with other competencies, such as urban planners, landscape architects, land engineers, case handlers, and project managers. You serve as the natural expert support for elected officials and employees within your areas of responsibility. Your role also includes writing statements on referrals and investigating motions related to your areas of responsibility.

Your experience

• Law degree (jur.kand.)
• Very good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish.
• You have several years of experience in qualified legal work.

Meritorious

• Previous work as a lawyer or representative in court and good knowledge of planning and building legislation, the Environmental Code, and/or development law as well as law related to traffic and public outdoor environments.
• Previous work within a politically governed organization.
