Arktika Capital is a newly established credit institution with the ambition to build a modern, efficient, and scalable financial organization from the ground up. We are in an exciting phase of development and are now looking for an experienced accountant with a deep understanding of financial reporting, IFRS, and regulations within the banking and finance sector.

This is a role for you who want to be more than just a cog in the machine – you want to help set structures, build processes, and influence how the finance function is shaped, in close collaboration with the accounting manager and external partners.

About the role

As an accountant focusing on regulatory reporting, you will play a key role in the company's financial reporting and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate, quality-assured, and timely reporting to the Financial Supervisory Authority, as well as ensuring that the financial reporting meets high standards in line with applicable regulations.

The role combines operational accounting work with the development of processes and system support, making it both broad and strategically important.

Your main responsibilities

• Be responsible for regulatory reporting to the Financial Supervisory Authority on a monthly and quarterly basis

• Ensure that the reporting meets requirements according to IFRS, financial regulations, and supervisory rules for credit institutions

• Participate in and drive year-end closing work, reconciliations, and quality assurance of the accounting

• Contribute to the preparation of annual reports, financial statements, and notes

• Be involved in establishing accounting principles, routines, and process descriptions, including instructions to outsourcing partners

• Work with and contribute to automation and streamlining of reporting flows, including data management and system support

• Act as an important contact point for issues related to accounting, reporting, and regulations within banking and finance

Qualifications and experience

• At least 5 years of experience in ongoing accounting and year-end closing work

• Documented experience in regulatory reporting, preferably to the Financial Supervisory Authority

• Very good understanding of financial accounting and IFRS

• Experience from banks, credit institutions, finance companies, or other regulated activities is highly meritorious

• Experience in participating in or being responsible for parts of the annual reporting process

• Very good knowledge of Excel (search functions, pivot tables, data management)

• Good system skills and interest in automation and reporting tools

• Meritorious with experience in Power BI or similar BI/reporting systems

• Fluent English in speech and writing – you should be able to write procedures and instruct external parties in English
