WHAT YOU WILL DO HERE
As a Senior Economist at the Banking Unit, you analyze banks that are significant for the Swedish banking system, focusing on their risks and vulnerabilities. The overall aim of the work is to analyze and assess the resilience of the banking system, contributing to a more robust system. An important role is that you help and act as a sounding board for other employees in various projects and tasks. For example, you contribute to:
- monitoring and analyzing banks' business models and the funding and derivative markets they use,
- working with the analysis of various risks in the banking system, such as credit risks, liquidity risks, cyber risks, and climate-related risks,
- working on various policy proposals and regulatory issues for banks, both internationally and nationally in cooperation with other Swedish authorities,
- representing the Riksbank in official contexts and participating in international policy work,
- working on crisis preparedness issues, such as solvency assessments, systemic importance assessments, liquidity provision, etc.
YOUR TEAM

The Banking Unit currently consists of 14 employees with diverse backgrounds. In addition to financial stability issues, employees in the unit often participate in projects related to banking that span several parts of the Riksbank.
ABOUT YOU
You have at least a bachelor's degree in financial economics, economics, an engineering degree with an economic focus, or a similar education. You have at least ten years of work experience in bank analysis or other bank-related matters.
As a person, you are creative, have good judgment, and very strong analytical skills. You are also accustomed to and enjoy working in a team and are good at collaborating and communicating. You work in a structured manner, deliver high-quality work, and are skilled at presenting and writing texts in both Swedish and English. We consider a strong interest in macroeconomic issues to be a given.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Start date: As agreed
Employment type: Permanent position, probationary period may apply
Location: Office in central Stockholm
Working hours: Flexible working hours
Remote work possibility: 1 or 2 days per week
