Job Description
The Prevention Unit is part of the Individual and Family Care Office in Upplands-Bro municipality. Here we work to support children, young people, families, and adults through several services, such as family centers, parental support, Mini Maria, youth reception, SSPF, adult substance abuse treatment, crime, and violence in close relationships. The unit works solution-focused to provide the right support at the right time to prevent future problems.
We are looking for a therapist with broad knowledge and competence in the area of children and families. The position primarily targets children and young people who have developed or are at risk of developing problematic school absenteeism. You will work closely with students, guardians, and school staff. Your mission is to build relationships and create safety, as well as be a link between the school and other supportive services. The assignment also includes participating in and supporting the promotional and preventive efforts to strengthen school attendance. The assignment also involves documentation and regular follow-up of results. There are also interventions directed towards groups. You will also engage in outreach work in collaboration with other actors in the municipality together with your colleagues. Other tasks within the framework of service interventions may also occur.
Evening work may occur to be available when the assignment requires it and citizens need support.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a trained social worker or has another post-secondary education that the employer deems relevant.
- Basic psychotherapy training level 1
- Has experience in social work and working with children, young people, and their families
- Has knowledge of the social services' mission and work
- Finds it easy to build relationships with those you meet in your work and is used to working independently, but also in collaboration with others.
- Is secure and stable
- Can easily navigate the social system, the various authorities' missions, and understands how preventive social work can complement the existing resources of society
- Is flexible and takes on new challenges and tasks
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience working with families with social problems
- Good knowledge of school absenteeism issues
- Good knowledge of investigating and mapping school absenteeism issues
- Good knowledge of student health promotion work
- Knowledge and competence in substance abuse issues
As a family therapist in the Prevention Unit, it is important that you are outgoing and can build relationships with children, young people, guardians, but also with other authorities, associations, and businesses. You need to have personal maturity to professionally meet people facing difficulties. We prefer that you have knowledge and competence in CBT and work with students who have or are at risk of developing problematic school absenteeism. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
About the recruitment process
