Kungsholmens västra gymnasium is centrally located at Campus Konradsberg on Kungsholmen. The school has about 1050 students with a strong growth rate as it is popular. The school offers studies in Economics with specializations in economics and law, Natural Science program with a focus on Natural Science, Health and Social Care program, and Social Sciences program with a focus on Behavioral Science and Social Studies. Your role

As a counselor, you have an important role at the school and in the student health team. You assist the school with expertise in social legislation and community resources and perform student health work at the individual, group, and organizational levels. Your tasks may include holding conversations with students individually or in groups, class work, and contacts with guardians. An important part of your work is to work proactively and preventively with students who have high absenteeism or other issues. We work preventively by having the student health team conduct lectures in different grades based on their professions, which has been a well-received addition. You may also provide some guidance and consultation to other school staff and participate in the development of preventive action plans. You collaborate with social services, child and adolescent psychiatry (BUP), police, youth clinics, and other external actors.

Good knowledge of the Social Services Act and other relevant laws is required. You will belong to the school's EHT team, which consists of, in addition to you, another counselor, two special educators, two school nurses, two career counselors, and access to a school doctor and school psychologist. The EHT is a well-functioning team, and you need to be able to collaborate and work flexibly towards common goals to thrive with us.

Your skills and experience

You have a degree in social work or another equivalent higher education that qualifies you to work as a school counselor.
