Are you an engaged and empathetic social worker with a strong commitment to supporting women and children living with violence? Sollentuna Women's Shelter is now looking for a secure and professional person who wants to be an important part of our work for a violence-free society.
About us
Sollentuna Women's Shelter is a small, personal, and volunteer-driven organization with a big heart and high engagement. We support women and children affected by violence through sheltered housing and open activities. We are also an active community actor collaborating with authorities, organizations, and networks in the fight against men's violence against women.
About the role
As a social worker with us, you will have a varied and meaningful role where you work both independently and in close collaboration with colleagues at the office as well as our dedicated volunteers. The role combines direct client work with administrative and coordinating tasks.
Your main responsibilities:
- Meet women and children in crisis, both in sheltered housing and in open activities.
- Conduct support conversations before, during, and after a separation process, focusing on both emotional support and practical guidance, such as contact with authorities.
- Conduct assessment conversations in collaboration with social services caseworkers and ensure that placements follow the agreed implementation plan.
- Be responsible for documentation, statistical reporting, and some administration.
- Plan and conduct study visits and participate in internal and external training and lecture activities.
- Represent the shelter in relevant external networks and collaboration forums.
- The position may also involve stepping in as acting operations manager when needed. The role may also include on-call duties.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is a trained social worker or has another equivalent higher education.
- Has at least three years of relevant work experience.
- Has documented experience working with women and children affected by violence, preferably as a social worker.
- Is experienced in documentation, preferably in Infosoc, and works fluently in Microsoft 365.
- Has experience in the non-profit sector; experience from women's shelter work is an advantage.
- Is certified in FREDA, Trappan, and Patriark (advantageous).
- Is available to work some evenings and weekends.
- Speaks and writes Swedish fluently; additional language skills are advantageous.
- Is self-driven, responsible, and solution-focused, and enjoys both independent work and teamwork.
- Is an animal lover and not allergic to fur (advantageous).
- Holds a valid driver's license (B).
We offer:
- A meaningful and developing work environment where you make a real difference.
- A varied job with great responsibility and the opportunity to influence.
- Close collaboration with engaged and experienced colleagues.
- Opportunities for professional and personal development within a socially important organization.
