About us

The forensic psychiatry unit is a unique operation within Sahlgrenska University Hospital with the mission to provide individually tailored psychiatric care and rehabilitation to patients who have been sentenced to treatment.

The unit has both inpatient and outpatient facilities with enhanced security classification. Forensic psychiatry also cares for patients deprived of liberty under other legislation when they require psychiatric specialist care and are particularly demanding in terms of care. In addition to the care provided, forensic psychiatry also has a community protection responsibility, where the goal is for patients to manage life in society without reoffending due to mental illness. Forensic psychiatry has a close collaboration with the research unit CELAM (Center for Ethics, Law, and Mental Health), which is an interdisciplinary center located at Rågården.

Forensic psychiatry conducts and develops specialist care with a focus on interdisciplinary rehabilitation. Our aim is to offer a stimulating and developing job, where you work closely with colleagues from various professions in rehabilitation and treatment. Within forensic psychiatry at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, you are offered the opportunity for continuous further education according to local goals and your own interests. About the job

With us, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team with several different professional categories. Your main tasks will include conducting investigations, assessments, treatments, and consultations with other staff. An important task is also to participate in the implementation and communication of risk assessments during the patient's treatment period. You will work in a team where you, together with other professionals, are responsible for planning and implementing our patients' care and rehabilitation.

The position is a temporary position until 2026.

About you

We are looking for a licensed psychologist. Experience in forensic and/or psychiatric settings is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have previously worked in other forensic settings such as correctional services, SiS, and/or work with deprivation of liberty and coercion.
