We are looking for several summer substitutes who are interested in working in elderly care with a focus on ordinary housing (home care). The summer job period is week 26-33, and there is an opportunity to start as a substitute already now.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We have nine different home care areas in Mariestad municipality, two of which include rural areas. Working in home care means that you will support people with various needs in their own apartments, townhouses, and villas.

The tasks are varied and include, for example, personal care such as assisting with toilet and shower situations, dressing and undressing, distributing medications, helping with meals, and service tasks such as laundry, simple cooking, and social interaction.

A large part of the work is performed independently while you have colleagues who are out on their visits and are just a phone call away. There is also what is called double staffing, where you visit people together and help each other, for example, in lifting situations.

This is the job for you who are outgoing and enjoy a mobile job in sometimes high tempo. You will meet many different people during a work shift and have contact with colleagues, unit managers, nurses, and relatives. As support in the work, there are also planners who schedule your visits for the day.

We have both bike and car districts depending on which home care area you work in. The working hours are mixed, and you will work both day shifts, evening shifts, and weekend shifts. Some positions are also available for specific night work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone who has completed or is currently pursuing a care education, preschool teacher education, or other equivalent education. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with experience working with people in need of support or experience from service professions.

You should be engaged and curious in your work and have a high sense of responsibility. Furthermore, you should be attentive to the needs of the residents and have a genuine interest in helping others. You must master the Swedish language in both speech and writing to communicate with users and document events and other information in the work.

It is very important that you can collaborate well with other colleagues and contribute with flexibility and joy at work.

It is an advantage if you have a driver's license, as well as experience and knowledge of alternative communication methods. Some digital skills are also required as much of the work - both your work schedule and documentation - is handled via apps.

We also see that you should be able to work irregular hours, which means working both during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Due to the requirements of the Work Environment Authority for care work, you must be 18 years old.
