Join the new Kungälv Hospital
The growing acute hospital characterized by close collaboration where employees are part of the development.
The hospital has been newly built to meet future healthcare needs in modern facilities where all patients have their own rooms.
We have operational areas in the hospital within medicine, surgery, orthopedics, anesthesia and intensive care, radiology, psychiatry, geriatrics, and a 24/7 emergency department. We have the advantages of a small hospital with close relationships between the clinics, where you will receive a cohesive AT training.
Description
Kungälv Hospital offers a solid AT training - here you will find proximity, competence, and a willingness to take care of you as an AT doctor. As an AT doctor with us, you will have a lot of clinical everyday work and close contacts among colleagues. We help you develop in your role as a doctor.
Kungälv Hospital appoints 32 AT blocks per year. These are announced in spring and autumn.
All blocks are for 18 months, of which:
- 4.5 months in surgical specialties
- 4.5 months in medical specialties
- 3 months in psychiatric specialties
- 6 months in general medicine
We offer 16 AT blocks starting in the autumn of 2026.
8 blocks start on 2026-08-17 and 8 blocks start on 2026-11-16.
The primary care placement is made at one of the health centers in our catchment area. From Tjörn and Skepplanda in the north to Backa in the south.
The application closes on February 18 at 24:00
Notification of interviews will be given no later than Monday, March 2. Interviews will take place in weeks 10 and 11.
As an AT with us, you will receive:
- two weeks of hospital-wide introduction at the start
- introduction at each block placement
- engaged study directors who help you develop
- supervisors at the various placements
- participation in regular reflection groups
- joint training days
- three retreats with different themes, so-called Focus days
- to undertake a longer study trip, which has often gone to a developing country
- participation in the AT forum
- many joint and social activities
- participation in the highlight of the year - the Lucia procession!
- good camaraderie and community
- sea and forest close to you
Qualifications
Swedish medical degree or the National Board of Health and Welfare's permission to complete AT. Proficiency in the Swedish language corresponding to level C1 according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages.
We are looking for employees with reflection and collaboration skills, who enjoy taking their own initiatives and thrive with varied tasks. We value personal maturity and good judgment, where great importance is placed on the personal letter and attached recommendation letters as a doctor from clinical internships. It is desirable that you have worked as a junior doctor after graduation. In the case of long internship periods, internships in different specialties are meritorious.
For your application to attract our interest, we want it to be complete, i.e., you have attached recommendation letters from your service as a junior doctor, as well as attached a copy of your diploma or the National Board of Health and Welfare's permission to complete AT. If you do not have a diploma, a Ladoc certificate must be attached. We also want you to explain why you want to come to Kungälv Hospital.
When hiring, great importance is placed on group composition, where we want to form a group with different experiences that can help and support each other, and where one can also learn from each other.
Other Information
We will request extracts from the criminal and suspicion registers for all who are offered employment with us. We will also check diplomas or permission to do AT with the National Board of Health and Welfare.
