About our open position

Our large and varied mission gives you as a paramedic great opportunities to develop in your profession.

The ambulance is often the first on the scene, and the intervention can be crucial for the patient. You will work with pre-hospital emergency care, usually with one patient at a time. You will meet patients of all ages who have suffered from acute illness or injury, and assess and treat patients at home, at the scene of the accident, and during transport to a healthcare facility. The focus is on good care and compassion in patient interactions.

Work is done in teams, and as a paramedic, you will always travel with an ambulance caregiver, another nurse, or a specialized nurse. You need to thrive in a varying pace and be comfortable not knowing how the day's shift will unfold.

The position is a permanent employment. You will work 33.20 hours/week or 36.20 hours/week, depending on the degree of night shifts. Work will be scheduled for all hours of the day. Your base station/location is at the station in Ulricehamn.

About us

The ambulance service at Södra Älvsborg Hospital is part of the emergency care department and operates from our ambulance stations in Borås, Skene, Herrljunga, Svenljunga, Tranemo, and Ulricehamn. We collaborate closely with, among others, the emergency department, alarm center, and police and rescue services during joint alarms and responses. Other important partners include primary care and the municipality, to ensure optimal care levels.

Our stations have different characteristics, from urban environments with a high frequency of ambulance missions to smaller towns where we are responsible for a larger geographical area and transport patients to several different hospitals. In total, we are 120 colleagues who care for each other and together develop our operations. Your profile

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse and have experience in ambulance and/or emergency care. If you have pre-hospital further education or training in anesthesia or ICU, it is an advantage. You must have a driver's license with B category, and we prefer that you have C1 category as well. You need to have good physical ability and be able to swim; tests will be conducted for each area.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have an easy time collaborating with others. You have good problem-solving skills and make the decisions required by the situation. It is natural for you to have a good attitude, stand for good patient care, and take responsibility for contributing to a good work environment. We place great importance on personal suitability.
