We are looking for several summer substitutes who are interested in working in group housing, service housing, and short-term accommodation for children/youth. The summer job period is weeks 26-33, and there may be opportunities to work as a temporary substitute already during the spring.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a substitute in support for people with disabilities, you have an important mission where you contribute every day to creating safety, participation, and quality of life for people with disabilities. You work closely with the individual and are an important part of shaping a functioning and meaningful everyday life.

You may work in:

Group Housing

In a group home, several users live in their own apartments. Here, you work to provide educational support, care, and services that contribute to a meaningful, safe, and developing life. Your tasks include being responsible for care and supporting the individual with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, laundry, meals, cleaning, community contacts, and support during leisure activities. In this work, alternative communication methods such as pictures, signs, and symbols are used. In this job, it is important to involve the residents in their own everyday life and to find a variety of fun activities based on the individuals' interests.

Service Housing

Service housing is a middle ground between independent living in one's own apartment and a group home. Here, you provide support to the user based on their conditions. The purpose is to offer basic security in everyday life where you act as a social support and help the residents to structure their daily lives. One difference from group housing is that the caregiving tasks are fewer in a service housing. However, a similarity is that you also find a variety of fun activities based on the individuals' interests.

Short-term Accommodation for Children/Youth

There are two short-term accommodations where activities are conducted for children and youth aged 6-21. Here, families and relatives receive relief by having the child/youth at the facility for one or more days during weekdays or weekends, or through leisure activities in the mornings, afternoons, and holidays. The focus is on social interaction, activating the children and youth, and some care. One of the accommodations is more adapted for physical disabilities and is fully wheelchair accessible.

In the various areas of support for people with disabilities, you will sometimes work alone and sometimes together with a colleague, depending on which workplace is relevant. The working hours are mixed, and you will work both day shifts, evening shifts, and weekend shifts. Sleeping on duty and night shifts also occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are primarily looking for someone who has completed or is currently pursuing a care education, preschool teacher education, or other equivalent education. Alternatively, we are looking for someone with experience working with people in need of support or experience from service professions.

You should be engaged and curious in your work and have a high sense of responsibility. Furthermore, you should be attentive to the residents' needs and have a genuine interest in helping others. You must master the Swedish language in both speech and writing to communicate with users and to document events and other information in your work.

It is very important that you can collaborate well with other colleagues and that you contribute flexibility and joy to your work.

It is an advantage if you have a driver's license, as well as experience and knowledge of alternative communication methods. Some digital skills are also required as much of the work - both your work schedule and documentation - is handled via apps.

We also expect you to be able to work irregular hours, which means working both during the day, evenings, and weekends.

Due to the requirements of the Work Environment Authority for care work, you must be 18 years old.
