With over 250 employees, we are one of Sweden's largest eye care operations.

We are a research-intensive organization at the forefront of research and development. The main operations are located at Mölndal Hospital, but eye care is also provided at Drottning Silvia's Children's and Adolescents' Hospital, Kungälv Hospital, Frölunda, and Sahlgrenska Hospital. Our operations are divided into 14 processes based on different subspecialties, both in medicine and surgery.

In the processes, there are employees from various professional categories, including nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, optometrists, orthoptists, ophthalmic nurses, clerks, doctors, coordinators, and photographers.

Job Responsibilities:

At the eye diagnostic clinic, you will work with a variety of tasks such as:

• Performing visual acuity tests, intraocular pressure measurements, visual field examinations, OCT, and eye photography.
• Preparing visits for the doctor’s clinic and conducting some independent optometry appointments.

As an optometrist, you will work in a team with doctors, optometrists, and nursing assistants.

In the long term:

• Triage of acute patients.
• Referral management and some booking may be included.
• Some shifts each month involve working on-call until 7 PM, collaborating with a doctor and a nursing assistant from the ward who may accompany patients to the ward for further management if needed.
• Telephone consultation with 1177's operator who consults us on eye issues, primary care doctors, and private optometrists. There is always a resource doctor available for consultation.

What do we offer?

• Wellness allowance via E-passi of 2000 SEK/year.
• Further education to become a master's optometrist through Linnaeus University, partially online. Internal training.

About you:

You who are applying for the position are a trained optometrist with contact lens certification.

Meritorious: DO certification, experience as a hospital optometrist.

You have an interest in medical technology as it is a significant part of our operations.
