You will quickly feel welcome and become one of us. We focus on good communication, job satisfaction, and a pleasant working environment. About the Psychiatry Quarter

Do you want to work in new, modern, and unique facilities designed for specialist psychiatric care? The Psychiatry Quarter is a newly built and modern care environment with green outdoor areas and fresh, bright facilities. Our ambition is to offer Sweden's best psychiatric care, and the Psychiatry Quarter is our largest investment in many years. We are now looking for someone who wants to join us on our continued journey towards the future of psychiatry.

About Us

The Psychosis Care at Södra Älvsborg Hospital consists of an inpatient department and an outpatient clinic that work closely together. This is part of developing a cohesive care chain.

The patients we care for have psychotic diagnoses and PTSD. The legal frameworks we operate under are both HSL and LPT. The department collaborates with specialist psychiatric outpatient clinics, social services, and primary care. We strive to provide our patients with meaningful care of high quality and high patient safety. In our new facilities, we have a vision of achieving a new working method that enables a zero vision regarding threats and violence as well as coercive measures. In patient work, we focus on working with a low-arousal approach, and our ambition is to provide top-class psychiatric care.

We now need a new addition to our team as two of our nurses are leaving. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in psychiatry. You should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be ready for all kinds of challenges. You should be a team player with a twinkle in your eye, but who also understands the importance of collaboration and communication.

The department consists of a well-functioning team with friendly colleagues driven by curiosity and a desire to continuously develop the operations. With us, you will have the chance to be part of an exciting and lively work environment where we focus on the patient and work to create a safe and supportive environment. In the department, nurses and nursing assistants work alongside specialist doctors and medical secretaries.

The operational area works with long-term professional development for nurses, which includes the opportunity for specialist training after a period of service in the department. The emphasis is on providing professional treatment and care to our patients, but job satisfaction, humor, and a pleasant working environment for employees are also high on the agenda.

We have a close collaboration with the University of Borås and accept nursing students for practical training.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a Swedish nursing license and at least four months of experience in the profession. Experience from psychiatric care and/or being a psychiatric nurse specialist with experience in psychosis care is an advantage. You have a strong interest in working person-centered based on assignments and values. We wish for you to have a positive, flexible, and pedagogical approach with a high degree of professionalism. We also see that you have a good ability to work both independently and in a team. Furthermore, we see that you are responsible and have a drive to improve specialist psychiatric care based on innovative and creative ideas. Great importance is placed on personal suitability and the genuine belief in the human capacity for change, where you put the patient's best interests at the center and are attentive to individual needs.

If you are in your final semester of the nursing program or have less than four months of professional experience, you are referred to apply for our introductory programs. Read more about SÄS's introduction offer for newly graduated nurses here.
