The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. Approximately 3000 employees work with us every day to provide good and safe specialist healthcare of the highest quality.

About Us

The radiology department is part of the Diagnostic and Service area within the Hospitals in the West, and there is a Radiology Clinic at all four hospitals in the administration.

In addition to radiology, the area includes the VGR SV Pharmacy and Medical Technology. The radiology department within the Hospitals in the West has a broad examination panorama where we provide services to both the hospitals' operations and primary care.

We are divided into two medical teams, one for Kungälv Hospital/Angered Local Hospital and one for Alingsås Hospital, with shared responsibility for Högsbo Local Hospital. Each medical group has its own leader. Since we believe in the benefits of close dialogue with our operations and short decision-making paths, we have chosen to primarily work within our respective hospitals. We naturally help each other when needed, learn from one another, and collaborate when it benefits the patient and the operation.

Our Operations

Our operations include acute and elective general radiology, on-call duties in the evening and on weekends (external review by a private provider at night on both weekdays and weekends), rounds/MDK, development of the operations, continuing education, and training of AT doctors/trainees. You will be placed at Alingsås Hospital but will also work for Högsbo Local Hospital and other hospitals within the Hospitals in the West. We are flexible regarding different working hours and active research.

What You Will Work With

As an ST doctor in radiology, your daily work will consist of image review within conventional X-ray, CT, and MRI, as well as performing fluoroscopy and ultrasound examinations. On-call duties in the evening and on weekends are included in the position. You are expected to take responsibility for your development into a specialist doctor. Along the way, you will receive good collegial support and be an important part of the workgroup. Parts of your training will be conducted at university hospitals. In close collaboration with our ST study director and your supervisor, you will work out an individual development program to become a good radiologist and meet the National Board of Health and Welfare's goals for specialist competence.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a Swedish medical license and a burning interest in radiology. You find it exciting to contribute to the imaging diagnostic part of the care chain. You are confident in taking your own responsibility while appreciating collaboration. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. We are looking for employees who complement our group!
