Description

We are looking for a physician to join our lung team.

With us, you will follow the patient from referral/new visit to investigation and outpatient follow-up. The specialist clinic has radiology, respiratory physiology, and blood gas analyses. In our multidisciplinary team, we have the opportunity to collaborate in the management of multi-sick patients through short handling paths.

The lung team has developed methods for comprehensive management of patients with, among other things, obstructive lung disease and asthma. This is achieved through interactive collaboration between physicians, nurses with specialized training, coordinators, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dietitians, social workers, biomedical analysts, and medical secretaries. Treatment and care plans are created based on individual conditions through patient conferences.

In addition to obstructive lung disease, a wide spectrum of pulmonary medical conditions is managed. The TB program is part of the lung clinic and focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of TB as well as contact tracing. We perform lung function tests, spirometry, IOS, NO measurements, and several other examinations.

The lung team also has a mission to prevent ill health, with a focus on tobacco prevention. The majority of nurses are certified tobacco cessation specialists. The lung team also works with COPD school. Preventive work also takes place outside the hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work within pulmonary specialist care, outpatient only Monday to Friday, currently during the day.
• The position includes interpretations of various respiratory physiological examinations, consultative work within the mobile team, and ensuring that diagnostics and treatment are conducted according to current guidelines and recommendations.
• Participate in the ongoing work to develop the pulmonary medical services, contribute to the competence development among employees, and collaborate with other actors such as ASIH, primary care, municipalities, and other hospitals.
• Be easily accessible for consultation on issues related to pulmonary medical conditions.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician with specialist competence in lung diseases.
• Experience and competence in managing outpatient patients with lung diseases and lung infections.
• Good social skills and ability to collaborate, as our work is based on teamwork.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is a requirement.
