About Us

Pain Team Västra Götaland is an operation within the Västra Götaland region for the care of non-malignant chronic pain in individuals over 18 years old.

The operation started in January 2025 and is intended for patients who need a specialized and interdisciplinary treatment plan. Pain Team Västra Götaland is located in Borås, Uddevalla, Skövde, and Gothenburg.

The operation is conducted in close collaboration with the Pain Center East at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, which has primary responsibility for medical assessments and medication treatment. Pain Team Västra Götaland also collaborates closely with the Primary Care Research and Development Unit.

We provide both physical and digital care throughout the region and have interdisciplinary teams capable of offering a complete basic range of specialized pain care. Our ambition is to create equitable care in Västra Götaland by standardizing our interventions based on the best available knowledge. Treatment is offered both individually and in groups, and our employees play a central role in the continuous development of the operation.

Due to upcoming retirements, we are now seeking a physiotherapist for our unit in Skövde, located at Storgatan 20.

The Work

You will participate in the continued development and design of the operation together with other employees and managers. Other professionals working in the team include occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, doctors, and medical secretaries.

As a physiotherapist in the team, you will conduct assessments for rehabilitation and work with individually tailored treatment, group treatment, and group education alongside the rest of the team. The physiotherapeutic components include physical training, basic body awareness, and lectures on pain physiology and physical activity in chronic pain. Team rehabilitation is based on ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), which the team receives joint supervision in. Physiotherapists in the pain teams also receive supervision in basic body awareness. Assessment and rehabilitation primarily occur physically but can also be provided digitally. You will also participate in the team's work regarding the patient, such as team conferences and referral reviews. We view competence development positively and ensure this through each employee's individual development plan. There is some possibility for remote work if the operation allows it.

About You

We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist. Experience in pain management, primary care, or adult psychiatry is advantageous, as is training for physiotherapists in the treatment of chronic pain and/or mental health issues, such as Basic Body Awareness. It is desirable that you have experience with digital care and digital tools, as well as several years of experience in the profession.

As a person, we seek someone who is confident in their professional role and has a genuine interest in, and preferably experience of, teamwork. You have a clear biopsychosocial perspective and are both flexible and collaborative. We value your ability to see the whole picture, focus on the best interests of the operation, and have a good ability to assess patients' rehabilitation potential and summarize your assessments in writing. We place great importance on personal suitability for the position.
